Technological Literacy

Technological literacy is a course I teach for 9th graders that meets once a week for about 12 weeks. The purpose of the course is to familiarize students with concepts and vocabulary that they will encounter in their academic journey as well as their everyday lives using online tools and social media.

Publications

Additionally, since I teach this course at a girls’ school, an additional goal is to have our students gain confidence in a subject that they are, as a demographic, often shut out of and made to feel incompetent in. By formally introducing these terms and concepts, they will feel more empowered to research and engage in conversations about protecting themselves in a rapidly changing digital landscape.

Tutoring

I offer tutoring services to students based in the Pittsburgh area. I can tutor most introductory and undergraduate computer science classes. I can tutor any K-12 math up to AP Calculus AB, and I can tutor discrete math. In the past, I have privately tutored geometry, algebra II, AP Calculus AB, and a data structures and algorithms course.

In addition, I have worked with students in different kinds of situations and neurodivergence, and I am happy to work with students and/or families with non-traditional backgrounds and special needs.
